I paint and work with what inspires me. I like to work with subjects and objects that allow me to play with some abstraction. Sometimes that abstraction is literally found in the subject matter, like a reflection on the surface of the water. I also look for the opportunity to work with a little nostalgia and story-telling. I appreciate that art encourages unique story making as every viewer brings a slightly different life narrative to individual paintings which can result in a variety of experiences. I also love to work with subject matter that simply, brings me joy. I like to paint what makes me happy. I hope very much that you are able to find some joy in my work.

I have been exploring the reflective, abstract, and nostalgic qualities of water and how all of those elements interplay with light and design. I have been a competitive swimmer since I was 12 and swam all through my teen years and into my twenties, completing my four years of eligibility for the University of Utah, two of which I was co-captain. Now a "retired" swimmer (which just means I can wear my fins any time I want) I am still in the water and finding continued inspiration at every turn (pun intended for the swimmers).

Born, raised and currently living in the breathtaking mountain valleys of Northern Utah I am inspired by the natural world that surrounds me, and makes me feel like I am walking my dogs in a work of art. I am also surrounded by inspiring people, all of whom should be in a painting. I hope I live long enough to make ALL the art.
